Contaminant Identification of a Facial Cream
A facial cream manufacturer needed help identifying the cause of a crystal formation that was intermittently appearing in a few of its batches. Microbac used FTIR and SEM analyses to identify the crystal residue. Microbac used the identity of the residue to determine the components of the facial cream that were interacting to produce the crystals.
Product Efficiency
Microbac was able to assist a client in determining its soap’s antimicrobial effectiveness. A microbiological assay was used to determine the amount of bacteria the soap product could eliminate.
Failure Analysis
A lotion bottle manufacturer needed assistance in determining why the final finish on its bottles was losing its glossy sheen. Microbac utilized FTIR to analyze the coating and the bottle surface. From this analysis, Microbac’s scientists were able to determine that the bottles contained a release agent from the molding process that was interfering with the ink’s binding properties.
