REACH is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1970/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances. Manufacturers and importers are required to gather information on the properties of their chemical substances, which allow their safe handling, and to register the information in a central database run by the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki.
ASTM International, formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials, is an international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.
The Department of Transportation requires that materials being transported must be evaluated for safety. We evaluate hazardous materials for classification using the regulations found in the 49CFR and the United Nations (UN).
