Microbac continues to deepen industry intelligence with a growing team of top experts.
JULY 12, 2017 (PITTSBURGH, PA) - Microbac Laboratories, Inc. today announced the addition of Aaron Peacock, Ph.D., to the Microbac team as Director of Molecular Biology.
Dr. Peacock’s responsibilities will include oversight of laboratory operations, as well as supporting molecular biology applications for the environmental science, food, and life sciences markets.
“I’m inspired by the opportunities we have here at Microbac to explore whole genome sequencing, said Peacock. “Advancements in whole genome sequencing allows for microbial and DNA identification of adulterants and contaminants. Leading edge uses are being developed for projects like contamination control in production facilities, authenticity of food products, DNA-free biopharmaceutical drugs, environmental remediation projects, and more.”
Most recently, Dr. Peacock was a Senior Scientist and General Manager at Pace Analytical Energy Services, LLC. Earlier in his career, he served as Technical Specialist for Haley & Aldrich, Inc., and as Scientist at The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in Charleston, SC.
Dr. Peacock earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he worked at the Center for Environmental Biotechnology as a research associate. He brings to Microbac a rich history of publication of his work in books, academic papers, and other professional contributions.
